Bristol Rovers boss Mark McGhee has confirmed the first of two signings expected to be made today after securing a three-month loan deal for young Bolton striker Tom Eaves.
The Rovers boss confirmed that he wanted to add two new strikers to his squad after last weekend's goalless draw with Fleetwood Town and is expected to announce the signing of an experienced free agent on a short-term deal later this afternoon after completing a 93-day emergency loan move for Eaves.
Eaves, 20, arrives from Bolton in a bid to get games under his belt after a year-log absence due to a knee injury. He has yet to start a senior league game, but impressed during 15 appearances off the bench for Oldham in the 2009/10. He scored a hat-trick against Bolton in a pre-season friendly the summer before last and was signed by Owen Coyle a few weeks later – but has yet to feature.
